The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for maintaining active status for all providers by successfully completing initial and subsequent credentialing packagers as required by commercial payers, Medicare and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain individual provider files to include up to date information needed to complete the required governmental and commercial payer credentialing applications
  • Maintain internal provider grid to ensure all information is accurate and logins are available
  • Update each provider CAQH database file timely according to the schedule published by CMA
  • Apply for and renew annually all provider licenses; Professional, DEA, Controlled Substance
  • Complete revalidation request issued by government payers
  • Complete credentialing applications to add providers to commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Complete re-credentialing applications for commercial payers
  • Assist with billing staff to identify and resolve and denials or authorization issues related to provider credentialing
  • Maintain accurate provider profiles on CAQH, CMS and other alike databases

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of related experience; Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis preferred
  • Experience with CAQH or similar database preferred
  • Ability to deal with diverse populations
  • Strong Critical Thinking, Organizational and Communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate and comprehend techniques, procedures and changes to meet variable situations
  • Able to effectively communicate with supervisors and directors to improve his/her skills and adapt to Agency culture and policies.
